Fishing authorities tracking licenses

Anglers are being reminded to ensure they have the right licences for river fishing.

The recent heavy rainfall is good news for the fishermen who will be out to catch salmon and sea trout in October.

However any angler found without a valid licence may face prosecution, a hefty fine and be disqualified for fishing for a year.

River fishermen are also reminded that the season for brown trout will end on 30th September to protect the species during the spawning season.
