Sun, 06 Oct 2013

The 10-year-old girl killed in yesterday’s road accident in Castletown has been named as Alexis French.
The Ballaugh Primary School student lost her life when the BMW she was travelling in collided with a bus at Ballakaighan Corner at 3.40pm.
Two people remain in a critical condition in hospitals in the north west of England and her mother is said to be in a stable condition in Noble’s Hospital.
Police say five people travelling on the bus, including the driver, were taken to hospital but all but one were released last night following treatment in A & E.
One passenger is being treated for fracture injuries.
Support is being provided for pupils and staff at Ballaugh Primary School and the headmaster has sent his condolences to family and friends of the French family.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Headquarters.
