Tax agreement will help to banish slurs

The Chief Minister has hailed a new tax deal as a step in the right direction for banishing tax slurs on the Island.

Yesterday it was announced that the Isle of Man had become the first British dependency to sign a FATCA style agreement with the UK.

It means from 2016 tax information will be shared automatically.

Allan Bell says this is proof that the tax haven status is no longer justifiable:
