Cardboard cut outs of children will be displayed in Douglas in an effort to stop motorists speeding.

The police are building on a tried and tested road safety campaign and has now launched Flatkidz -  a new take on the successful PC Flat cardboard cut outs.

Flatkidz will see life size cut out photographs of children appearing roadside in busy areas.

The police want the cut outs to remind road users that hitting a child in a car at any speed can have tragic consequences.

The scheme will initially be tested in the Douglas area with it expected to spread Island-wide in the coming months.
