A new diesel train which has been built for the Isle of Man Railways will arrive here next month – costing the taxpayer £400,000.

The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure says it's good value for money – as the price included the design, build and shipping of the locomotive.

Substituting the old Viking diesel, it's set to become the fleet's multi-use workhorse as a maintenance train, fire train and a recovery train for others that have broken down.
