Falcon Motorsport’s young driver assessment tests next week in Spain will include four drivers who enjoyed their first taste of the EcoBoost Formula Ford car at the Rockingham Formula Ford Sampler Day earlier this month: they are Ricky Collard, Harrison Wignall, Greg Holloway and Chris Mealin.

“We are delighted to be welcoming Ricky, Harrison, Greg and Chris to the test,” said Falcon Motorsport team principal Nick Streatfield, whose squad is taking over the Guadix circuit for five full days from Monday (2 Dec) in preparation for its three-car assault on the 2014 Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain. “ We are very pleased also that Harrison Scott will be joining us for the first two days to assist with driver assessment and chassis set-up. We are still talking to a number of others who would like to attend, so I am sure that it will prove to be a very useful and full week of testing.”

Seventeen-year-olds Collard and Wignall are experienced karting talents looking to make their single-seater racing debuts in 2014; Manxman Mealin, 20, has raced Formula Ford 1600s as well as junior saloons. Holloway, 27, brings with him experience of Formula Ford racing in his native Australia.

Falcon Motorsport quickly established itself as one of the top teams in the 2013 Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain; the Oxfordshire team’s 17-year-old charge Harrison Scott won the Scholarship class 13 times from 30 races on his way to the class title.

Formula Ford 2014 will feature 30 races at 10 rounds alongside the biggest attraction in UK motorsport, the British Touring Car Championship. The championship will boast live coverage on ITV4, as well as bumper trackside spectator attendance, and boasts a £30,000 cash prize fund.
