Department of Infrastructure resources are now being scaled back as the stormy conditions begin to subside.

Fallen trees caused blockages on many roads today as winds reached up to 80 miles an hour in some places.

Crews have dealt with dozens of incidents with some members of staff ending their holidays early to help out.

Staff are being praised for their hard work.

The majority of the problems on the roads have been now resolved but crews remain on standby with winds remaining strong for the rest of the day.

Manx Electricity Authority workers have also been kept busy today with fallen trees bringing down power lines in some areas, including Glenfaba Road near Peel and at Ballure near Ramsey.
