'HENRY' scheme set to target obese children

A group of professionals and parents are looking for funding for an initiative to target obesity in reception classes across the Island.

A business case to change the lifestyle of thousands of children has been put forward to government to plan for ‘Health, Exercise and Nutrition for the Really Young (HENRY)’

It is set to cost approximately between £60,000-70,000 – depending on the staff and training involved.

Consultant in public health medicine Dr Paul Emerson says he's hoping for the Chief Minister's support and aims for it to be implemented in 2014:
