Peel to host 'toilet tax' public meeting

A public meeting will be held in Peel next week to oppose the new ‘toilet tax’ which is being brought in.

Residents there are angry that the Water and Sewerage Authority is pushing through the plans without consultation with the public.

If successfully approved homeowners with a toilet will face a £50 charge, on top of their rates, from April.

Organisers behind the meeting say they are particularly opposed to it because Peel isn’t even on the IRIS system.
