Sat, 15 Feb 2014

More than 100 calls for assistance were made on Wednesday night as the Island was battered by stormy conditions.

The Department of Infrastructure had twelve two man teams working through the storm’s peak – between 7pm and 10pm.

Nearly 40 trees were brought down in this period as wind speeds reached 80 miles per hour.

Manx Electricity Authority workers were also out in force to repair disrupted power supplies.
