Local charity benefits from 'no make up selfie' trend

A cancer charity on the Isle of Man has benefited from the latest craze sweeping social media.

Manx Cancer Help says it’s noticed a spike in donations over the last week thanks to the ‘no makeup selfie’ trend.

Women have been taking to Facebook and Twitter to post a picture of themselves barefaced, making a donation to charity and then nominating their friends to do the same.

Yesterday Cancer Research UK – which didn’t start the movement - reported over £2 million of donations within 48 hours.
