Police clamp down on motorists using mobile phones

The Department of Infrastructure has teamed up with the police to deter drivers from using mobile phones.


The 'pick up your phone, pick up a fine' campaign highlights risks of dangerous driving and its related financial penalty - which includes a fine of up to £2,500 and four licence penalty points.

The department's Road Safety Team will be using radio adverts and notice boards to raise awareness in areas where a number of drivers have been fined.
