All the titles in the Mixed, Men’s and Women’s Leagues have now been decided.  Only one match in the Women’s league remains to be played.

 

League results for the week ending 28^th March 2014.

 

Mixed League 2

Rushen A finished their 2013/2014 season with a close hard fought battle at home to Kirk Michael A. Carolyn Brown and Sarah Gardner got Kirk Michael off to a great start with a 21/17 21/14 victory against Annie Howarth and Janet Corkish at second womens. Adrian Edwards and Richard Kerr for Rushen then took a good win at second mens in the only rubber to go to three games during the evening against Ryan Brew and David Gardner 16/21 21/16 21/12. Vanessa Roberts and Leanne Miller then put Kirk Michael back in front at first womens with a 21/18 21/14 win against Carole Ennett and Kirree Ronan. Rushen’s Rob Mason and Neil Ronan made sure all was to play for in the second half of the match with a comfortable 21/14 21/13 over Ben Kneale and Mike Brew at first mens. Fourth mixed went to Kirk Michael’s Gardner and Brown. Third mixed went to Rushen’s  Kerr and Ennett. A good win for Rushen’s Mason and Corkish against Brew and Roberts at second mixed 21/16 21/19 meant the match could go either way. But it was the Kirk Michael first mixed pair of Kneale and Miller that proved too strong for Neil Ronan and Kirree Ronan taking the win 21/14 21/12 and with it the match 9-8. Congratulations to the Kirk Michael women on remaining unbeaten for the season. NR
