Average Island income is 44,660 according to digest

Wed, 07 May 2014

There’s currently over £72 million of Manx currency in circulation.

That’s just one of many facts published in yesterday’s Digest of Economic and Social Statistics.

It also estimates the Island’s average national income was £44,660 when last surveyed in 2011/2012 – a whole £23,000 more than our UK counterparts.

Police stats show a gradual decline in theft and burglary cases; however sexual offences show their highest incident rates in the last 10 years, with 66 separate incidents.

The 100 page document covers everything from current population to road accident figures - you can get a copy at the Tynwald Library.
