Acquisition will have no impact on PokerStars staff

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

PokerStars says it is committed to the Isle of Man despite being acquired by a new company for $4.9 billion.

Amaya has taken over PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker.

There will be no impact on Island based staff and the PokerStars' headquarters will remain here for the foreseeable future.

The company says it expects the acquisition to accelerate growth leading to growth and job opportunities on the Island.

PokerStars employs 216 people - it says it intends to grow staff by another 10 per cent by year end.
