Children inspired to GO Run for Fun

GO Run For Fun - that's what children are being told in an effort to inspire them to hit the running track.

Organised by the company behind the Great North Run - an event on July 11th will see primary school pupils aged seven to 11 running and walking 2kms at the NSC.

Re-branded from the Great School Run last year's event saw over 1,000 children taking part.

Athletics and community sports development officer Trevor Christian says they'll also be a special sporting star there on the day:
