Prom cycle lane plans 'not a money saving measure'

Scrubbing out the cycle way on Douglas Promenade is not another way of government trying to save money.

The Department of Infrastructure is trialing the idea for 12 months asking users to 'Share with Care'.

It's an idea that's gained a mixed response from our listeners -  Mark says it's fine the way it was, Morag welcomes it saying cyclists often had problems staying in the lane and Tina says bikes need to fit bells to warn people.

However traffic and safety manager Kevin Almond says the research shows people should remain safe:
