Dog owners could be charged for dog warden service

Dog owners could be charged in future if they lose their dog and it's collected by the dog wardens.

From this month the service has changed with staff at the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture taking on the role.

During working hours they will collect stray canines - outside of these the ManxSPCA will be responsible for collecting and looking after them until they can be reunited or rehomed.

In the last year more than 300 dogs have had to be rescued - costing between £100 and £140 a time.
