Proposals would see minimum wage jump by 25p per hour

Tynwald approval will be sought in this month's sitting for changes to the Minimum Wage.

In a proposal put forward by the Minimum Wage Committee there would be a 25p increase per hour representing an increase of 3.9%.

The increase would be applicable to all workers over 21, those aged below will have their current rate capped except for certain trainees.

Minister for Economic Development Laurence Skelly says he feels the tough balance of pleasing both employer and employee has been achieved:
