Safety campaign tells riders not to "bin it"

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

'Don't bin it. For everyone's sake slow down' - that's the hard hitting slogan for this year's Festival of Motorcycling road safety campaign.

The joint initiative, between police and the Department of Infrastructure, will continue the theme of this year's TT campaign, encouraging visiting and local bikers to respect the Manx roads and slow down.

The term 'don't bin it' is another term for crashing - the poster features a striking image of a motorbike in a wheelie bin.

With more interest in the revamped festival thousands of visitors are expected meaning a greater volume of traffic on the roads.

Posters will be displayed at key locations and venues ahead of the launch of the event with the first practice session this coming Saturday.
