Tough new rules on dog fouling to be introduced

Sat, 08 Nov 2014

Dog owners could be forced to clean-up after their pets if new laws are approved.

It's after problems with dog mess in the Archallagan and Chibannagh plantations.

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture will ask Tynwald to amend the byelaws to make it an offence not to clean up.

It also wants permission to ban dogs from three areas of South Barrule and Archallagan to ensure it stays family friendly.

Two wardens enforce the byelaws across the department's entire 28,000 acre estate, we asked Access and Recreation Officer Graham Watson if this is enough?
