REM pods to help dementia sufferers

Noble's Hospital, Ramsey District Cottage Hospital and Southlands Resource Centre each have a 'REM Pod' - gifted to them by Friends of Ramsey District Cottage Hospital and Friends of Noble's Hospital yesterday.

Each one replicates an era in time - which a patient with dementia would feel relaxed and less frustrated in familiar surroundings.

The pods were presented to investors on TV programme the Dragon's Den, and have since been installed in 100 UK hospitals.

Alison Lester is Noble's volunteer services manager, she explained how beneficial they are:
