Advocate says Equality Bill needs more work

A local advocate says the new Equality Bill doesn't include economic and social rights.

Paul Beckett will be speaking at an Isle of Man United Nations Association event on the subject tonight to mark Human Rights Day.

Entitled 'A Human Rights Commission for the Isle of Man? Is the Equality Bill only half the story' - it addresses the possibilities that arise from what he deems to be "gaps" in the Bill.

The event will be held at the Noble's Park Pavilion community room in Douglas at 7:30pm.
