Children's Centre will continue to deliver what services they can

The Children's Centre says it will continue to try and deliver a number of services to the community despite losing a range of government contracts.

The organisation has claimed there are 61 jobs at risk after the Department of Health and Social Care awarded St Christopher's the children and family services work.

Four children's homes which currently house one child each will be closed - chief executive John Knight says despite being a small number they are important.

An appeal against the decision hasn't been upheld - John says the centre will do its best to keep the fostering service, nurseries and holiday clubs going in the same manner:
