The inquest into the death of a "human cannonball" from the Isle of Man will start today.

24-year-old Matt Cranch died in April 2011 whilst performing at the Kent Showground in Detling.

The stuntman, who was originally from Onchan, fell to his death after the safety net failed when he'd been fired 40 feet in the air.

The inquest will take place at the Archbishop's Palace in Maidstone and is expected to last three days.
