Police urge people to make it difficult for criminals

Tue, 20 Jan 2015

Police say it's time to make it harder for people who want to spoil the Island's safe reputation.

They're urging people to continue to take basic security precautions in their homes such as locking all doors and windows and using timing switches for lighting.

It follows the recent burglary epidemic - with 27 burglaries, and attempted burglaries, reported this month.

Last night, after an alleged attempt in Douglas, speculation on social media suggested a dark coloured car was involved.

Police say they're not linking that vehicle to their current investigation - however are urging the public to keep reporting anything suspicious.
