A Sulby woman who has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a cyclist will be sentenced in March.

63-year-old Linda Thompson admitted one count of killing Kathryn Burge by careless or inconsiderate driving at Douglas Courthouse on Thursday.

The physiotherapist died following a collision in Kirk Michael on August 4th last year.

Thompson has also been charged with committing an act against public justice - a matter said to be totally unconnected - and will face committal proceedings for this on March 11th.

Deemster Montgomerie said although matters were normally dealt with together that could take some time to progress and he would proceed with sentencing the driving offence on its own.

Sentencing is due to take place on March 31st - social enquiry reports have been requested and she's been bailed until her next court appearance.
