Commissioner calls for clarity on waste figures

Ratepayers are entitled to more transparency over £4 million which has been spent at the Island's energy from waste plant.

That's according to Onchan Commissioner Rob Callister who's asking the Department of Infrastructure to give local authorities access to the SITA contract.

It paid an "availability fee" in 2012 and 2013 - a charge associated with disposing of domestic and commercial waste.

He wants to know why - and says more questions need answering:
