Island's space tourism bid fails to launch

Has the departure of two space tourism capsules signified the end of the industry on the Isle of Man?

Space exploration company Excalibur Almaz shipped the pods to the Island in 2011 - with the intention of developing them for 'space holidays'.

The plans didn't come to fruition and the company recently sold the vessels at auction for over £1 million.

Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says although it's a major blow the Island's space industry on the whole is continuing to thrive:
