Mother looks to make Onchan road safer for kids

The mother of a child who was almost hit by a car in Onchan whilst crossing the road is campaigning for heightened safety measures in the area.

Joanne Abrahams' son was nearly struck by a driver who failed to stop at a red light on Main Road between the junctions of School Road and Lakeside Road.

Incensed by the volume of incidents on the stretch of road - Joanne is fighting to have a lollipop lady installed there.

A public meeting is being held at 11am on April 11 at the Onchan Community Hall for anyone who wants to make their voices heard.

She says people need to report incidents to police:
