Means testing, low earners and the prison up for House of Keys debate

Tue, 31 Mar 2015

There's a mixed bag of questions tabled for today's House of Keys sitting.

Liberal Vannin leader Kate Beecroft will be seeking to find what efforts have been made to promote the Isle of Man's country brand.

Douglas West MHK Chris Thomas will ask the Treasury Minister what policy options have been considered, or agreed, in respect of means testing - he'll also ask for an update on the National Arts Development Strategy.

Michael MHK Alf Cannan wants more clarity on how many economically active people there are on Island, and how many full time employees earn less than £14,000.

Finally Onchan MHK Zac Hall will continue his plight to find out how the Department of Home Affairs has implemented suggestions flagged up in a major review of the prison carried out in 2011.

The sitting will get underway at 10.00am
