New legislation could ban certain ways to sell a car

Mon, 13 Apr 2015

Motorists could be banned from using parking places to advertise that their cars are for sale.

It's one of a number of proposals being considered by the Department of Infrastructure which wants to update highway legislation.

It says proposed changes will enable safety improvements to be made to the Island's highways and provide clarity on various miscellaneous matters.

Other things being considered are whether new buildings should be required to have round corners to prevent obstruction and whether the department can remove debris which could cause danger.

People can share their views via the public consultation currently running - the deadline for comments is May 8th.
