Work has commenced on a new £1.3 million facility for adults with learning disabilities.

The unit - which will based in Strang - will be operated by the Department of Health and Social Care following Tynwald approval for the spend in February.

Once completed the ten-bed facility will accommodate adults from the existing Radcliffe Villas site in Douglas.

They will benefit from an improved standard of accommodation with bigger bedrooms, en-suites and a more accessible communal living area.
