A Derbyshire man has pleaded not guilty to causing the death of a retained firefighter from Ramsey.

James Ricketts, who is from Matlock, appeared at Douglas Courthouse today.

He denies one charge of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving, from August 6th last year, whilst travelling on the Laxey to Ramsey Coast Road.

43-year-old Neil Walker was pronounced dead at the scene, near to Bulgham Rocks, after a collision between his motorbike and a car.

A pre-trial review will take place on June 23rd when trial dates will be set - Mr Ricketts has been bailed in the meantime.
