Island takes optimistic view after championship snub

There will be no British Cycling Championship on the Island next year but the Isle of Man Cycling Association is optimistic for the future.

Despite a strong bid, and making the final two, we lost to Stockton-On-Tees - an area that's recently held National Series events.

Feedback suggests the Island now needs to focus on securing a similar British cycling series if it wants to contend for future championship events.

Chairman Richard Fletcher says he was sure 2016 would be the Island's year:
