Thousands of pounds owed in tax fines

Thu, 16 Jul 2015

Residents and businesses on the Island have been fined over £10,000 for failing to pay Income Tax and National Insurance.

Cases have been brought before the Magistrates Court holding those who have failed to contribute to account.

Individuals who didn't submit their personal income tax return forms on time will pay just under £3,600 in fines and court costs.

Manx organisations - including a butcher, a removal and storage set-up firm, and a construction company - will pay around £6,000 to the courts and Treasury.
