Parking concerns dismissed as 'headline grabbing'

Politicians and government workers will be made to pay for their car parking spaces - but not yet.

That's the message from the Chief Minister who says criticism over the delay in charging is "pure political opportunism".

The charge was supposed to have been introduced in April as part of a move to save the Department of Infrastructure money.

South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft has tabled a Tynwald motion to make Members pay for their spaces from October - she says they're not shouldering their responsibility.

However Allan Bell has condemned it as "headline grabbing" and says it's unneeded:
