Inquest opened after body is found in Manx waters

Fri, 07 Aug 2015

Investigations are continuing after a Polish woman's body was found in Manx waters.

Today the inquest into the death of 33-year-old Joanna Dabrowska was formally opened at Douglas Courthouse.

Her badly decomposed body was found by a small craft last month - it's believed she died sometime between May 26th and July 6th but it's not known where.

The care worker, who lived in Dublin, was identified by dental records - a rucksack containing her personal items, including an identity card, was also found attached to her body.

Her cause of death is as yet undetermined although it was noted there had been "prolonged immersion in sea water".

Police here are liaising with the Gardaí in Dublin - the inquest has been adjourned to a date to be set.
