GCSE students overcome challenges to set record

GCSE students achieved a record high yesterday - securing the highest A* to C pass rate.

More than 900 year 11 students received their grades with an estimated 55 per cent set to stay on for sixth form and 30 per cent going on to the Isle of Man College.

18.8 per cent attained A* or A grades which is up on last year's figures.
