Reports suggest telephone bank scam returns

Police say they have concerns a telephone bank scam is back in operation.

Several people have reported calls where they've been told there is a problem with their account - they've been asked to call back with their account details.

The telephone numbers are linked to banks however officers say the scammers have the means to transmit false numbers onto the call display.

They are urging people not to give any personal details out, not to call back and to visit the branch in person if there are any concerns.
