Committal proceedings delayed in bitcoin case

Mon, 28 Sep 2015

Two men who are accused of converting criminal property into bitcoins have had their case delayed.

Douglas man Sam Atkin and David Jenkinson, who's currently remanded at the Isle of Man Prison, appeared at Douglas Courthouse last week.

The two 26-year-old's are accused of converting £4,450 and £10,624 respectively between February 2014 and May this year.

Committal proceedings have now been adjourned to a special hearing on October 12th where the defendant's advocates will argue there's no case to answer.

Both men are also awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to drugs charges including possessing cannabis and possession with intent to supply.
