An Onchan man who was found hiding over £1800 worth of cocaine at his parents' home has been committed for sentencing.

29-year-old Mark Whipp appeared at Douglas Courthouse this week where he pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

On May 1st police raided his home address on Maple Avenue where they found a small quantity of herbal cannabis and 11 wraps of cocaine.

Whipp, who wasn't in at the time, later surrendered himself to Police Headquarters - he was interviewed and told police he was a "coke addict" but was holding the drugs for someone else.

He will next appear before the Court of General Gaol Delivery on November 6th.
