Police praise bravery of sex-abuse victim

Police have praised the bravery of a sex-abuse victim who has seen her rapist jailed for 11 years. 

At Douglas Courthouse last week Ramsey man Michael James Moore was also told he will be listed on the Sex Offenders Register for an indefinite period.

He was found guilty of four counts of rape and two counts of indecently assaulting a child - the offences happened in the early 1990s.

Officers in the Public Protection Unit say they hope the sentence will provide some form of closure for the woman - detective constable Emily Perkins says she hopes it sends out a clear message:
