Police disrupted burglar faces sentencing in January

Tue, 24 Nov 2015

A burglar who was disrupted by police during a raid on a home in Douglas has been told he'll be sentenced in the New Year.

37-year-old John Johnson appeared before the Court of General Gaol Delivery yesterday - he's previously pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and one of resisting a police officer.

On November 11th officers disturbed him as he was stealing from properties on Falcon Cliff Terrace - he'd stolen a range of items whilst the occupants were asleep.

After fleeing the scene he was found hiding underneath a scaffolding wagon with police forced to use incapacitant spray to detain him.

Social enquiry reports have been requested before Johnson is sentenced on January 27th - he's remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until that date.
