Sixteen archers assembled at Onchan to shoot on Sunday. The Seniors’ shot a WA18 round and the Juniors’ tackled a Portsmouth as it was their last chance to record a score for the November Challenge Postal Competition.

Josh Trafford continued his dominance of the Gents Recurve division, finishing 50 points clear of his nearest rival. Trafford’s score was a pb for him and set a New Club Record. Danny Cowin came in second, while Tony Hartley took third. Dave Berry continued to struggle with his form but newcomer John Hill recorded a new personal best score for the round. Josh Trafford carried on into the afternoon session to shoot a Double Round which also proved to be a pb and a New Club Record.

The Gents Compound division was low on numbers this week with only Colin Moore, Pete Mumford and Dave Moore in the running. All three men shot to a similar standard and by the end Colin and Dave were tied on 549 with Pete 7 points further back. When scores are tied, victory is decided by number of Golds shot. In this case Dave shot 10 and Colin hit 14 to take the win.

It was great to see Sarah Rigby back in action again the Ladies Compound. Sarah marked her return to Indoor competition by recording the highest score of the day and pushing Joy Gough into second place.

Lesley Sleight put her Long Bow to good use once again by smashing the Club Record she set last week by 34 points.
