Police warn people to respect road and area closures

Police are urging people to respect road closures and areas that have been closed off due to the weather.

Yesterday Old Laxey Hill and Back Shore Road in Laxey were evacuated and the areas closed off.

It's due to fears that the cliff face there is eroding - the area has suffered badly from heavy rain and strong winds with the bridge in the lower part of the village also collapsing.

Inspector Andy Kneen says the emergency services are already stretched without people flouting restrictions:
