Benefit claimants told to work 'disadvantaged' says MHK

Incapacity benefit claimants deemed 'capable of working' are getting a raw deal from government.

That's according to South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft - she wants to know what specifications the UK-based assessment agency has been working to.

Other functions conducted by Dependability Limited whilst it judged Manx residents are also being queried.

In 44 per cent of assessments people have lost incapacity benefits and disability living allowance - Mrs Beecroft isn't convinced the figures stack up:
