Islanders back campaign on tougher sentencing for paedophiles

Over 5,500 people have added their support to a campaign calling for tougher sentences for paedophiles on the Isle of Man.

Spearheaded by two victims of sexual abuse the petition has now been handed over to the Department of Home Affairs in the hope outdated legislation will be strengthened.

Lisa Taylor and Sadie Sanders were both abused as children and have waived their right to anonymity in their battle to change the law.

Sadie's abuser was jailed last year - she says his conviction and the decision to tell her story publically has helped her finally move forward.
