Land sales could fund new secondary school

Selling land to build more houses in Castletown could pay for a new secondary school.

That's according to area MHK Richard Ronan who says he's "thrilled" that this year's Budget allows a business case to be started.

Concerns have been raised that a lack of investment in Castle Rushen High School means students don't have a suitable environment to learn in.

Mr Ronan says the cost of the school could be met by developers - creating a "win win" situation:
