Dogs mauling pregnant ewes cost farmer over £3,000

Dogs mauling pregnant sheep in West Baldwin have cost a local farmer over £3,000.

Police are investigating the attack which took place on Monday evening in Ballaquine.

The suspected two offending dogs set upon 190 pregnant ewes - which suffered 'major stress' and could cause miscarriage.

Six sheep were mauled before the animals were spotted and removed - their owners are yet to be identified.

Cooilingel in Crosby is farmed by Ffin Creer's family who own the sheep - he says the real cost will be calculated in the next ten days:
